The SUV Caravans Florence Bay is a 6.3 metre off-road caravan for two, with a king bed and a corner lounge. Its toilet and shower sit in separate rooms, and it has a galley kitchen inside as well as the outdoor kitchen.
Who does it sleep?
Two people, on a king bed. Cupboards sit above the bedhead and the lounge, and bedside tables have storage drawers.
Living space
- Lounge: a corner lounge, with internal seating and a removable table.
- Heating: a diesel heater.
- Cooling: roof-mounted reverse-cycle air conditioning and 12 volt fans.
- Laundry: a wall-mounted washing machine.

Bathroom
The internal ensuite has a flush cartridge toilet and a separate shower cubicle. The shower has a rain shower head and soap and shampoo dispensers.
Kitchens
The internal galley has a sink, a cutlery drawer, a microwave and a 50 litre fridge freezer. Outside, the kitchen swings around 90 degrees and runs a four-burner gas stove behind a wind guard. Pantry drawers and a stainless steel fold-down bench connect to it, and a slide suits a 95 litre Trakmate fridge freezer.
Chassis and running gear
- Chassis: fully galvanised, with an Australian engineer approved chassis, drawbar and suspension.
- Suspension: Series 4 recovery suspension with galvanised swing arms, twin shocks and heavy-duty springs.
- Brakes: 12 inch electric brakes and a breakaway system.
- Wheels: 17 inch gold rims on all-terrain tyres, with a spare underneath.
- Hitch: an Alko hitch for a 50mm ball, and an engineer approved safety chain.
- Front: an aerodynamic front and a fold-down stone guard.
- Recovery: two rear recovery points and a spare bolt-on stub axle.
Power and water
- Solar: 600 watts on the roof.
- Batteries: 628 amp hours of lithium batteries.
- Inverter: a 3000 watt Renogy Rego with a 150 amp mains charger and a 50 amp DC-DC charger.
- Solar charging: 50 amp and 60 amp solar charge controllers.
- Outlets: 240 volt outlets inside and out.
- Water: about 180 litres fresh in two tanks, a 70 litre grey tank, and mains water connection.
- Gas: integrated gas hot water and holders for two 4kg bottles.

Warranty and where to buy
SUV Caravans gives new vans 12 months of warranty from delivery on defects in material and workmanship. It adds a 5-year chassis fatigue warranty from 2025 onwards, for new units only, and neither transfers. Showrooms are in Caboolture, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Rockhampton and Townsville. SUV Caravans recommends dealership pickup for the handover, with freight delivery on request.
