About the Airlie 14 Twin
The Airlie 14 Twin is a hard-top off-road caravan that sleeps two on a double bed. It suits a couple who want a separate shower and toilet in a compact 14 foot van.
It has a 1,970kg tare and a 2,500kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), which leaves 530kg for water, gas and gear. Filling both fresh tanks uses 240kg of it, so weigh the van loaded. Ball weight is 205kg, and you need a car rated to tow 2,500kg braked.
The double master bed runs east to west and measures 1,370mm by 2,000mm. The sofa converts to a second bed of 1,170mm by 600mm. The kitchen has a Dometic two-burner gas cooktop, a 25L flatbed microwave, a 12V rangehood and a Dometic NRX1080 fridge. A Truma Ultrarapid gas and electric system heats the water.
It is a 12 volt system. Ezytrail fits 400W of roof solar, two 120Ah lithium batteries and a Renogy 2000W inverter charger with a 65A output. A Renogy One Core management system and a 50A DC-DC MPPT combo charger run the rest. Two 120L fresh tanks hold 240 litres of drinking water, and an 80L tank takes the grey.
The $5,000 Extenda Pack lifts the battery bank to 470Ah and the solar to 600W. It also wires the air conditioner to the inverter and adds a 2kW diesel heater with a bluetooth controller. A MyCoolman CCA3000 air conditioner, a 28 inch smart TV and a wifi reverse camera are standard.
Ezytrail builds the van on a fully galvanised chassis with an Alko 3,500kg off-road ball hitch. It rides on Ezyrider V2 independent suspension with two Pedders shocks and a Bigfoot 12 inch electric brake system. An ARK XO jockey wheel, four stabiliser legs and certified front recovery points come with it. The rear bumper bar carries two 20L jerry cans. The van measures 6.37m long, 2.4m wide and 3.01m tall on the road.
Ezytrail keeps eleven showrooms of its own and hands the van over at the one you pick. A flat $1,000 freight fee covers transport to it, and the from-price excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs. You collect the van at that showroom, and a 10 per cent deposit holds the current price. The structural warranty runs 12 months from the first owner.
