Caravan rego in New South Wales
For example, on NSW's published fees, 12-month rego for a caravan with a 2,300kg tare (its empty weight) is $414, checked 29 October 2026.
Your van's tare is on its compliance plate. A heavier van sits in a higher band and pays more vehicle tax.
How the 2,300kg example is made up
- $84 registration fee, charged on every vehicle.
- $330 vehicle tax for the 1,500 to 2,500kg band, after the 40% caravan reduction.
