That is the fee for a registration period starting on or after 1 September 2026.
How the 2,300kg example is made up
- The ACT sets its fees in a determination, a legal instrument made under its road transport law.
- $618.30 is the determination's figure for the 1,505kg to under 2,500kg tare band.
- For a period that started before 1 September 2026, the reduced fee was $468.30.

What else the ACT's page says
- Access Canberra's reduced light trailer fees covered registration periods starting from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026.
- Trailers do not pay the road rescue fee that other ACT vehicles pay.
