About the Odyssey
The Design RV Odyssey is the maker's entry-level semi off-road caravan, for couples and families. It pairs independent suspension with 440 watts of solar and a 300 amp hour lithium battery. It comes in couples and family floor plans, and Design RV notes its photos show optional upgraded hardware.
Floor plans
Design RV lists 12 floor plans for this model.
- Couples: nine layouts from 17 feet 4 inches to 22 feet 10 inches.
- Family: three layouts with bunks, at 20 feet 6 inches, 21 feet 10 inches and 22 feet 6 inches.
- Seating: a cafe dinette or an L-shaped lounge, depending on the layout.
Power
- Battery: a 300 amp hour lithium battery.
- Solar: 440 watts.
Kitchen, bathroom and comfort
- Cooking: three gas burners and one electric hotplate, with a griller.
- Bathroom: a one-piece fibreglass shower and a ceramic bowl cassette toilet.
- Climate: a rooftop reverse cycle air conditioner.
- Bed: an innerspring mattress.
- Fridge: a 170 litre Freucamp compressor fridge.
Water and outdoors
- Fresh water: two 95 litre tanks.
- Grey water: one 95 litre tank.
- Toolbox: a Jumbo 500 toolbox with a dual slide.
- Awning: an Aussie Traveller manual roll-out awning.
- Reversing camera: standard.
Build
Design RV builds it in Pakenham, Victoria.
- Chassis: a Supagal heavy-duty chassis with an extended drawbar.
- Suspension: Titan semi off-road independent suspension.
- Tyres: 245/75 R16 all-terrain tyres.
What will tow it?
Design RV lists the Odyssey suspension at 3,300kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass) for dual-axle layouts. Single-axle layouts are listed at 2,750kg ATM. The ATM is the most the van can weigh fully loaded.
