About the Tardis LB
The SUV Caravans Tardis LB is a 7.15 metre caravan for two, built around a queen bed that drops down electrically. SUV Caravans says the bed makes a living area by day and a bedroom at night, and the club lounge sits in that space. It has separate shower and toilet rooms, with a washing machine mounted on the wall.
Who is it for?
SUV Caravans designed it for couples who want more comfort without towing a larger van. It sleeps two. SUV Caravans also sells a Tardis LB Family, which adds bunk beds.
Inside

Outdoor kitchen
The outdoor kitchen has a four-burner gas stove with a windguard. A fridge slide with pantry drawers connects to it through a stainless steel fold-down bench. The pantry slide suits a 95 litre Trakmate fridge freezer, which is an upgrade. It also has LED awning lights and an external shower port.

- Suspension: Series 4 recovery suspension with galvanised swing arms, twin shocks and heavy-duty springs.

- Spare axle: a bolt-on stub axle for the recovery suspension.
- Brakes: 12 inch electric brakes with a breakaway system.
- Hitch: a DO35 hitch, with jerry can holders and two rear recovery points.
Power and water
- Solar: 750 watts.
- Batteries: 628 amp hours of lithium batteries.
- Inverter: a Renogy Inverter Pro, 3000 watts.
- Charging: a smart charger and a Renogy dual-input DC-DC charger with a solar charge controller.
- Control: Renogy One Core, a Renogy smart distribution box and a Renogy One Vision 7.
- Outlets: 240 volt, 12 volt and USB, inside and out.
- Water: about 200 litres fresh in two tanks and about 80 litres grey, both monitored, plus a mains water connection.
Hot and cold water runs to all sinks and the shower, heated by gas. Holders take two 4kg gas bottles.

- Tare: 2,540kg, its empty weight as built.
- GTM (gross trailer mass): 2,770kg, the most it can weigh on its axles.
- Payload: 460kg for water, gas and gear. Full fresh water tanks use about 200kg of it.
To tow it fully loaded, your vehicle needs a braked towing capacity of at least 3,000kg. SUV Caravans gives its weights as approximate.
Warranty and where to buy
SUV Caravans covers new vans for 12 months from delivery against defects in material and workmanship. The chassis also has a 5-year fatigue warranty, from 2025 onwards. The warranty applies to new units only and is non-transferable. Showrooms are in Caboolture, Cairns, Coffs Harbour, Rockhampton and Townsville. Pickup from a showroom is the maker's recommended option, and freight delivery is available on request.
