Scout-14

The Scout-14 is Stoney Creek's mid-size couples hybrid, built around a king bed and interior ensuite. It suits a couple who want dinette, lounge and bathroom all under the one roof.

Tare is 2,020kg against a 2,800kg ATM, a 780kg payload margin. Ball weight sits at about 175kg at tare. That margin allows a full water load plus touring gear for two on the road.

A king bed with a memory foam mattress sits ahead of the dinette and lounge. The pull-out kitchen runs a Dometic 4-burner grill with a flame failure device. An 85 litre external fridge and a 49 litre internal fridge cover the cooling. A shower with a removable head and a Thetford cassette toilet form the ensuite.

A 460Ah Haidi lithium battery bank runs off 400W of roof solar. A 3000W Renogy pure sine wave inverter handles appliances off grid.

Two 120 litre tanks hold 240 litres of fresh water, backed by an 80 litre grey tank. Truma reverse-cycle air conditioning covers the cabin.

A 6 inch by 2 inch hot-dip galvanised frame rides on independent trailing arm suspension. Two spare mud terrain tyres sit on alloy rims, behind a Cruisemaster DO35 coupling. Twin shocks and coil springs cushion the suspension over rough roads.

Dual 3.7kg gas bottles and an electric awning come standard. A 22 inch smart TV and a power-operated entry step round out the fit-out.

The maker sells and services it direct, through its own six branches. Cover runs 12 months on materials and workmanship, and 5 years on the chassis.
