About the Scout-17
The Scout-17 is Stoney Creek's off-road caravan, built on airbag suspension for two adults. It suits a couple who want a full-size kitchen and a fixed ensuite on tandem axles.
Tare is 2,660kg against a 3,500kg ATM, an 840kg payload margin. Ball weight sits at about 245kg at tare. That margin covers a full-size fridge, both tanks and touring gear for two.
A queen bed leads into an interior L-shape lounge. The kitchen runs both a 3-burner gas stove and an induction cooktop, next to a 180 litre full-size fridge and freezer. A microwave sits alongside the cooktops for quick meals. An ensuite with a separate toilet and shower completes the layout.
A 460Ah Haidi lithium battery bank comes standard, fed by 700W of roof solar. A 3000W Renogy pure sine wave inverter powers appliances off grid.
Two 120 litre tanks hold 240 litres of fresh water, backed by an 80 litre grey tank. Air conditioning keeps the cabin comfortable on the road.
A hot-dip galvanised frame carries the tandem axle on Airbag Man airbags. Mud terrain tyres sit behind a Cruisemaster DO35 coupling, with 12 inch heavy-duty electric brakes. Travel height runs to 3.3m with the airbags set to highway pressure.
A reversing camera and a 22 inch TV come standard. Extensive storage rounds out the composite-walled cabin.
The company sells and services it from six of its own branches nationwide. Stoney Creek backs materials and workmanship for 12 months, and the chassis for 5 years.
