Seclude Core 16'6

The Seclude Core 16'6 is Oz Off Road's smallest and cheapest way into its off-road range. It suits a couple who want a compact single-axle van for weekends and longer touring.

Tare is 2,150kg and the ATM (aggregate trailer mass) is 2,800kg. That leaves 650kg of payload for water, gas and gear.

The queen bed uses an inner spring mattress on an extendable gas strut lift-up base. The kitchen runs a gas and electric stove under a stainless steel sink, tapware and a splashback. Piano-hinged cabinetry keeps the cupboards tidy underneath.

Standard power is 240V, 12V and USB outlets, with no solar or battery bank fitted. Buyers can add a Nexus or Victron lithium system, electronic stability control or a reverse camera as upgrades.

Two 95 litre fresh water tanks feed one 95 litre grey tank, both tracked by water level gauges. Reverse-cycle air conditioning is standard, and a diesel heater is an optional extra.

The body sits on a timber frame under aluminium composite walls, with a 600mm black alloy checker plate along the sides. The chassis rides on-road suspension as standard, with an off-road independent upgrade on the options list. It carries a spare tyre on the bumper, quick-release stabiliser legs and a water tap on the A-frame. 16 inch alloys, all-terrain tyres and a DO35 hitch complete the running gear.

A 270 litre fridge, a microwave, a Bluetooth radio and an Omni TV antenna come standard. A full-length roll-out awning, a drop-down picnic table and a battery box are all fitted outside. A single-door toolbox, external gas bottle holders and an external BBQ point sit under the tunnel boot. Fire extinguisher, smoke and CO2 alarms and a breakaway system cover the safety basics.

Oz Off Road builds every van at its own factory in Penrith, NSW, and delivers Australia-wide on a 12 to 16 week lead time. Oz Off Road warrants the structure for 24 months and the chassis for 5 years, both from the original purchase date.
