About the Wild Tribe 22'6
The Wild Tribe is a 22ft 6in tandem-axle van entered through a mid door. It suits a family who need bunks and a full lounge together.
Tare is 3,400kg and Highclere quotes ATM at 4.5 to 4.7 tonnes, a range that spans the three build tiers. Ball weight is 340kg. Both figures beat every other model in this batch, including the longer Queen. Confirm which tier a quoted figure applies to before you choose a tow vehicle.
The front island queen carries a 6ft 2in pillow top mattress. Inside, rear bunks and a straight lounge sit ahead of a walk-through kitchen and the front island queen. A full-height fibreglass shower, cassette toilet and 3.5kg top-loading washer sit in the rear ensuite.
Dynasty fits a gas and electric mini grill oven with a pot drawer. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT both fit a full oven instead. Every tier runs reverse cycle air conditioning. The fridge holds 188 litres on the first two tiers, growing to 224 litres only on Grand Explorer XT.
Dynasty runs one 100Ah AGM battery and 210W of solar. Carnarvon steps up to two 120Ah AGM batteries, 420W of solar and BMPro monitoring. Grand Explorer XT switches to lithium: two 150Ah cells, 630W of solar and a Victron 3000W inverter.
Two 95 litre fresh tanks come standard. Carnarvon adds a separate 100 litre grey tank. Gas and electric power the hot water system.
Highclere builds the chassis from Australian Supagal steel on a 6 inch main frame. Dynasty runs semi off-road suspension; Carnarvon steps up to full off-road. Grand Explorer XT adds its own truss chassis and air bag suspension for tandem axles. Dynasty uses ribbed aluminium sides under a one-piece fibre roof. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT both move to composite aluminium sides and a composite roof.
A 5 year Highclere warranty covers the whole van, whichever tier you choose. The Wild Tribe comes out of the Epping, Victoria factory and reaches buyers through six state dealers. Price comes from the dealer in your state, with Epping covering the Northern Territory direct.
