About the Capital 19'6
The Capital is a 19ft 6in tandem-axle van entered through a mid door. It suits a couple who want a proper lounge rather than a dinette, in a shorter tandem body.
Tare is 2,480kg and Highclere quotes ATM at 3.2 to 3.5 tonnes, a range that spans the three build tiers. Ball weight is 220kg. Check with your dealer which build tier a quoted weight covers.
The front island queen carries a 6ft 2in pillow top inner spring mattress. Inside, an L-shaped lounge sits on the door side, with the kitchen across the aisle. A cassette toilet, full-height fibreglass shower and 3.5kg top-loading washer share the rear ensuite.
Dynasty's oven is a gas and electric mini grill with a pot drawer. Step up to Carnarvon or Grand Explorer XT for a full oven. All three tiers run reverse cycle air conditioning. Dynasty and Carnarvon both carry a 188 litre fridge; Grand Explorer XT carries 224 litres.
Dynasty carries a single 100Ah AGM battery off 210W of solar. Carnarvon adds a second 120Ah AGM battery and doubles solar to 420W, with BMPro monitoring. Grand Explorer XT swaps in two 150Ah lithium cells, 630W of solar and a Victron 3000W inverter.
Highclere fits two 95 litre fresh tanks as standard. Carnarvon adds a separate 100 litre grey tank on top of those. The hot water system uses gas and electric.
Supagal steel, made in Australia, forms the chassis on a 6 inch main frame. Dynasty rides semi off-road suspension, Carnarvon rides full off-road. Grand Explorer XT adds a purpose-built truss chassis and air bag suspension. Ribbed aluminium sides and a fibre roof cover the entry Dynasty tier. Composite aluminium sides and a composite roof cover Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT.
Every tier of the Capital carries the same 5 year whole-of-caravan warranty. Highclere manufactures the Capital in Epping, Victoria and places it with one authorised dealer per state. Your state dealer sets the price; contact Epping directly if you are in the Northern Territory.
