About the Explorer 16
The Explorer 16 is an off-road caravan with a queen innerspring bed, a full ensuite with a separate shower and toilet, and a 3000W inverter. Goldfields files it with its Rebellion caravans.
Tare is 2,290kg against a 2,800kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), leaving 510kg of payload, with a 270kg ball weight. It measures 6.67m long, 2.1m wide and 2.9m high.
The queen bed has an innerspring mattress, beside two-person dining seating and gloss furnishings. The kitchen has a four-burner stove, a large deep-dish sink, LED directional lights and a hot water tap. A prep bench, a fold-over bench and a condiment rack complete it. The ensuite has a separate shower and toilet with a vanity unit and a curtain, on a 20 litre Thetford cassette. Under-bed and under-seat storage, cupboards, an alloy toolbox, two jerry can holders and two 9kg gas bottle holders are fitted. A 110 litre fridge, an air conditioner, two Ranger fans and a high-strength waterproof floor are standard.
A 300Ah lithium battery runs a 3000W inverter, charged by 450W of solar, a 50A DC-DC charger and a 70A AC charger. Fresh water runs to 200 litres across two 100 litre tanks, with an 80 litre grey tank. A Truma hot water service runs on gas and 240V.
The body is an alloy frame with composite panels outside and fibre panels inside, on a hot-dip galvanised 150mm by 50mm by 3mm RHS drawbar. Independent trailing arms with twin shocks and Australian-made coil springs, electric brakes and 265/75R16 mud tyres carry it, with two spare wheels. A DO35 Cruisemaster hitch, an Ark 750 jockey wheel and a 7-pin flat plug are fitted. Goldfields backs it with a five-year structural warranty.
Goldfields sells it direct from its Maryborough showroom in Victoria.

Delivery and freight
If there's no dealer in your state, most brands deliver Australia-wide. You can also collect from the factory. Interstate freight is a real cost, often a few thousand dollars, and it climbs with distance, so factor it in before you commit.
