Winton 16F Twin MK2

The Winton 16F Twin MK2 is a 16 foot on-road caravan for two, with a queen island bed and a separate shower and toilet. It suits a couple touring sealed roads and caravan parks behind a mid-size tow car.

It has a 1,740kg tare and a 2,500kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), which leaves 760kg for water, gas and gear. That is the largest payload in this batch and the lightest van in it. Ball weight is 138kg, and you need a car rated to tow 2,500kg braked.

The queen island bed measures 2,000mm by 1,530mm. The cafe lounge runs 2,010mm by 680mm and makes up as a sofa bed. The kitchen has a dual induction cooktop, a Dometic 152L upright fridge-freezer and a flatbed microwave. The ensuite is self-contained with two fan hatches. Cabinets are lightweight PET with hidden latches and LED strip lighting.

Power is a 12 volt Ezypower system. Ezytrail fits 340W of anti-shading back-contact solar and a 235Ah lithium battery in a through-floor enclosure. A MyCoolman CCA2700i air conditioner ties into the smart system.

Water is a 120L and an 80L fresh tank, so you carry 200 litres of drinking water, plus an 80L grey tank. Gas heats the water on demand, and a CAM-LOK point dumps the grey tank.

The walls and roof are XPS foam core. The chassis and drawbar are hot-dip galvanised and F3 certified, which carries a five year warranty. It rides on 235/75 R15 all-terrain tyres with one spare, on 12 inch electric brakes. An 8 inch swing-up jockey wheel sits on the drawbar. The van measures 6.3m long, 2.35m wide and 2.89m tall on the road.

Storage runs to a front boot, drawers under the cafe lounge, a full-height cabinet beside the fridge and overhead cabinets through the van. The structural warranty runs 12 months from the first owner.
