About the Scout-11
The Scout-11 is Stoney Creek's couples off-road hybrid, a queen bed paired with an L-shaped lounge. The lounge and dinette convert for dining or extra seating around camp.
Tare is 1,660kg against a 2,500kg ATM, an 840kg payload margin. Ball weight sits at about 150kg at tare. That margin covers water, gear and provisions for a couple travelling long-term.
A queen bed with a memory foam mattress anchors the layout. The pull-out kitchen runs a 4-burner cooktop over a stainless sink, next to an 85 litre fridge and freezer. A shower with a removable head and a Thetford cassette toilet make up the ensuite.
A 460Ah Haidi lithium battery bank comes standard, fed by 300W of roof solar. A 3000W Renogy pure sine wave inverter powers appliances off grid.
Two fresh tanks hold 200 litres between them, with a 50 litre grey tank to match. A Truma system heats the water; a floor-mounted air conditioner covers the cabin.
A hot-dip galvanised 6 inch by 2 inch frame rides on independent trailing arm suspension. Mud terrain tyres on alloy rims sit behind a Cruisemaster DO35 coupling. Electric brakes with a breakaway system suit the 2,500kg ATM.
Composite body panelling wraps the cabin for strength and insulation. A wind-out awning and a 24 inch smart TV round out the standard fit-out.
The company sells it direct through its own branches, without an independent dealer network. The warranty runs 12 months on materials and workmanship, and 5 years on the chassis.

What towing this van needs
A brake controller in the car. Coupled up, the Stoney Creek Campers Scout-11 puts about 2,350kg on its wheels, and Australian law needs a controller above 2,000kg GTM (Gross Trailer Mass).

Dealers that carry Stoney Creek Campers, from the brand's own list. Stock moves all the time, so call before you drive out.
When you call, ask:
- Have you got the Stoney Creek Campers Scout-11 in the yard now, or is it on order?
- Can I come and walk through it this week?
- What's your best drive-away price on it?
- Is it the same build I compared, with matching layout, weights and features?
3When you get there, check
- The compliance plate - check the tare and ATM against the specs you compared here. The plate carries the legal numbers.
Where the plate is and how to read it - Water damage - soft spots in the floor, stains on the walls, or a musty smell in the cupboards.
How to spot water damage - That everything works - lights, water pump, fridge, gas, and the brakes and hitch.
The full inspection checklist, system by system - Sort your finance before you hand over a deposit, so you are never committed to a van you cannot finance.

Delivery and freight
If there's no dealer in your state, most brands deliver Australia-wide. You can also collect from the factory. Interstate freight is a real cost, often a few thousand dollars, and it climbs with distance, so factor it in before you commit.
