About the Footloose 20'8
The Footloose is a 20ft 8in tandem-axle van entered through a rear door. It suits a couple who want to put their feet up rather than sit at a table.
Tare is 2,520kg and Highclere quotes ATM at 3.2 to 3.5 tonnes, a range that spans the three build tiers. Ball weight is 190kg. Payload runs 680 to 980kg across the three tiers. Ask your dealer which tier a quoted weight or price describes.
The front island queen carries a 6ft 2in pillow top mattress. Internal height reads 2.0m. Inside, two recliner chairs replace the usual lounge on the door side, opposite the road-side kitchen. The rear ensuite holds a full-height fibreglass shower and cassette toilet, plus a 3.5kg top-loading washer.
A gas and electric mini grill with a pot drawer cooks on Dynasty. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT trade up to a full oven. Every tier runs a reverse cycle air conditioner. Only Grand Explorer XT lifts the fridge past 188 litres, to 224 litres.
Entry-level power is one 100Ah AGM battery and 210W of solar. Carnarvon lifts that to two 120Ah AGM batteries, 420W of solar and a BMPro monitor. Grand Explorer XT goes lithium, with two 150Ah cells, 630W of solar and a Victron 3000W inverter.
Fresh water runs to two 95 litre tanks as standard. Carnarvon takes a separate 100 litre grey tank too. The hot water system uses gas and electric.
Highclere cuts the chassis from Australian Supagal steel on a 6 inch main frame and A-frame. Semi off-road suspension covers Dynasty, full off-road covers Carnarvon. Grand Explorer XT steps up again with its own truss chassis and air bag suspension. Dynasty runs ribbed aluminium sides and a one-piece fibre roof. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT both run composite aluminium sides and roof.
Highclere backs the whole Footloose with a 5 year warranty, at any tier. Highclere builds the Footloose in Epping, Victoria and sells it through one dealer per state. Your state dealer quotes the price, and Epping takes Northern Territory enquiries direct.
