About the Little Hauss 17'6
The Little Hauss is a 17ft 6in single-axle van entered through a mid door. It suits a couple who want laundry that dries as well as washes.
Tare is 2,155kg and Highclere quotes ATM at 2.7 to 3.7 tonnes, a range that spans the three build tiers. Ball weight is 230kg. The ATM range runs a full tonne here, one of the widest single-axle spreads in the batch. A dealer can confirm which tier your quoted figure covers.
A 6ft 2in pillow top inner spring mattress covers the front island queen. Inside, a cafe dinette sits on the door side, opposite the road-side kitchen. The rear ensuite fits a full-height fibreglass shower, cassette toilet and wall-hung 3.5kg washer dryer.
The entry tier runs a gas and electric mini grill with a pot drawer. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT step up to a full oven. Reverse cycle air conditioning covers all three tiers. Fridge capacity stays at 188 litres until Grand Explorer XT lifts it to 224 litres.
The entry Dynasty tier carries one 100Ah AGM battery and a 210W panel. Carnarvon doubles the battery bank to two 120Ah AGM cells with 420W of solar and BMPro monitoring. Grand Explorer XT moves to lithium: two 150Ah cells, 630W of solar and a Victron 3000W inverter.
Standard water capacity is two 95 litre fresh tanks. Carnarvon carries a separate 100 litre grey tank as well. A gas and electric system supplies the hot water.
The chassis is Australian Supagal steel, on a 6 inch main frame and A-frame. Suspension runs semi off-road on Dynasty and full off-road on Carnarvon. Grand Explorer XT fits its own truss chassis and air bag suspension on top. The base Dynasty tier wears ribbed aluminium sides and a fibre roof. Carnarvon and Grand Explorer XT upgrade to composite aluminium sides and a composite roof.
Highclere's 5 year warranty covers the whole caravan regardless of tier. One authorised dealer per state sells the Little Hauss, straight from Highclere's Epping, Victoria factory. Ask your dealer for the price, and Northern Territory buyers can reach Epping directly.
