Savannah Maxxi 501-2 PT

The Golf Savannah Maxxi 501-2 PT is a 6.9 metre pop-top caravan with fold-out beds at both ends. It weighs about 1,770kg empty and up to 2,270kg loaded. It has a slide-out kitchen, an outdoor shower and roof-top air conditioning.

Layout

The end beds fold out from the body when you set up camp. Golf also builds this floor plan as the Savannah Maxxi 501-2 HT.

• Beds: fold-out beds at the front and rear.

Kitchen and inside

• Cooking: a cooktop, a 12 volt range hood and a microwave.
• Fridge: a three-way fridge inside, plus a compressor drawer fridge on the slide-out kitchen.
• Hot water: a gas and electric hot water service.
• Cupboards: plain timber or two-tone overhead doors with soft-close hinges.
• Lighting: LED ceiling lights and USB charging points.
• TV: a wind-up TV antenna with a signal booster.

Outside and chassis

• Chassis: an Adventure Pack chassis with an extended drawbar.
• Suspension: AL-KO Enduro Outback suspension and an AL-KO off-road coupling.
• Wheels: alloy wheels, with a spare wheel and jack.
• Awning: a box-style awning and an LED patio light.
• Outdoor kitchen: a slide-out kitchen with a water connection and a gas bayonet.
• Outdoors: an external shower, a radio and CD player with external speakers, and drop-down stabiliser legs.
• Body: insulated sandwich panel side walls with a ply-reinforced aluminium skin, flat black windows and a lockable security door.

Power, water and gas

• Battery: a house battery with a 20 amp charger and a DC to DC charger.
• Solar: 80 to 120 watts of solar.
• Outside points: a 240 volt power point, and a 12 volt point with an antenna point.
• Water: one water tank, with a lockable filler and a mains pressure inlet.
• Gauges: a battery and water tank gauge.
• Gas: two 4.5kg gas bottles.

Optional packs

• Style Pack: two-tone overhead doors, polished chrome handles and a feature splashback.
• Allure Pack: a white laminate interior, high-gloss cupboard doors, a feature splashback and leatherette upholstery.
• Lighting: an ambience lighting pack with LED strips along the kick boards and overhead panels.

• Length: 6.9 metres overall, with a 5.01 metre body.
• Inside: 4.07 metres long and 2.04 metres high.
• Width: 2.415 metres, including the awning.
• Travel height: 2.56 metres.

What will tow it?

• ATM (aggregate trailer mass): 2,270kg, the most it can weigh fully loaded.
• Tare: about 1,770kg, its empty weight as built.
• Payload: 500kg for water, gas and gear.
• Ball weight: about 215kg.

To tow it fully loaded, your vehicle needs a braked towing capacity of at least 2,270kg. Golf says its weights and dimensions are a guide only, and they change with the accessories fitted.
