The Parkes 15 MK3 Quad MY26 is a pop-top off-road hybrid that sleeps four on a 15 foot body. It suits a family who want a 2.7m travelling height, bunks for two children and a king bed for the parents.
It has a 2,413kg tare and a 3,000kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), which leaves 587kg for water, gas and gear. Ball weight is 226kg, and you need a car rated to tow 3,000kg braked.
The rear fold-out king bed measures 1,800mm by 2,000mm and has a pocket spring mattress. The bunks run 800mm by 2,150mm on top and 1,100mm by 2,150mm below, with a ladder to the top. A built-in ensuite holds the shower and toilet. Inside the kitchen has a two-burner gas stove, and the external slide-out kitchen has a four-burner stainless steel stove. A fridge slide with a pantry box and a generator hatch sit in the tunnel boot.
Power is a 12 volt Projecta system. Ezytrail fits 750W of roof solar, three 235Ah lithium batteries and a Projecta IP2000 inverter with auto changeover. A Gen 2 Intelli-RV manager with a 7 inch bluetooth touchscreen reads it, and a phone app controls the power and appliances. Ezytrail hardwires the air conditioner to the inverter output. It runs on battery power as well as mains. A 2kW diesel heater with a thermostat covers the cold end of the year.
You carry 240 litres of fresh water in two 120L tanks, with an 80L grey tank under the van. A 14L inbuilt heater does the hot water, and a grey dump point empties the waste tank.
The body is a steel and aluminium framework with fully insulated walls. Ezytrail builds the chassis and drawbar from F5 certified galvanised RHS steel and warrants them for life. It rides on Ezyrider V2 independent suspension with four Pedders Big Bore shocks and greasable polyurethane bushings. Bigfoot V2 12 inch brakes, 16 inch alloys on mud-terrain tyres and two spare wheels complete the running gear. The EzyLift airbag roof raises the pop-top on its own. The van measures 6.9m long, 2.4m wide and 2.7m tall on the road.
The structural warranty runs 12 months from the first owner.
Ezytrail keeps eleven showrooms of its own and hands the van over at the one you pick. A flat $1,000 freight fee covers transport to it, and the from-price excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs.
