Ceduna 16R Quad MK4

The Ceduna 16R Quad MK4 is a hard-top off-road hybrid that sleeps four on a 16 foot body. It suits a family with two children who want an internal ensuite and a van that leaves the bitumen.

It has a 2,458kg tare and a 3,000kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), which leaves 542kg for water, gas and gear. Four people and full tanks will use most of that, so weigh the van loaded. Ball weight is 210kg, and you need a car rated to tow 3,000kg braked.

The queen master bed measures 2,000mm by 1,530mm, with a large L-shaped folding sofa beside it. Two bunks run 1,950mm by 850mm each. A self-contained ensuite holds the shower and the cassette toilet. The kitchen has a dual induction cooktop, an overhead microwave and a Dometic 153L fridge-freezer. Upholstery is premium leather over quilted mattresses.

Ezytrail wires this one at 24 volts. Ezytrail fits two 24V 235Ah lithium batteries and a Victron Multiplus-2 3,000VA inverter with a 70A charger. That is 12kWh of storage, or 940Ah in 12 volt terms. A Victron SmartSolar 100/50 controller handles the roof array.

You carry 240 litres of fresh water in two 120L tanks, with an 80L grey tank under the van. Hot water is instantaneous gas. A MyCoolman CCA3000 handles the heat and a 2kW diesel heater handles the cold.

The chassis is one-piece hot-dip galvanised steel with an extended gooseneck drawbar. Ezytrail certifies it F5 and warrants it for life. It rides on Ezyrider V3 coil independent suspension with locking adjusters, an anti-roll bar and four Pedders Big Bore shocks. Bigfoot V3 12 inch brakes, 16 inch alloys on mud-terrain tyres and a 3,500kg off-road hitch complete the running gear. The van measures 7.32m long, 2.4m wide and 3.1m tall on the road.

Outside, Ezytrail fits a slide-out kitchen, a heavy-duty three-arm electric awning, an EzyLight awning room and a rear body toolbox. An Ezyhab dual pantry works from inside or outside and carries a drop-down table. The structural warranty runs 12 months from the first owner.

Ezytrail keeps eleven showrooms of its own and hands the van over at the one you pick. A flat $1,000 freight fee covers transport to it, and the from-price excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs.
