About the Explorer LX 4x4
The Avida Explorer LX 4x4 is a 6.3 metre gas-free campervan for two on an all wheel drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 419. It has 400 amp hours of batteries, a 3,000VA Victron inverter and 400 watts of solar. A diesel combi unit heats the air and the water, and it drives on a standard car licence.
Who does it sleep?
Avida lists it as sleeping two.
- Bed: 1,370 by 1,910mm, with an entry step and a centre section that folds up for storage.
- Seating: a dinette with a swivel table extension, and swivel cab seats.
- Seatbelts: two, or four as an option with two child restraints.

- Cooking: a portable induction cooktop for use inside and outside.

- Fridge: a compressor fridge-freezer.
- Air conditioning: a roof-mounted air conditioner, which Avida says you can use off-grid.
