About the Family V2
The Viscount Family V2 is an on-road family caravan with a queen bed and two or three adult-length bunks. It sleeps four or five, depending on the bunk count. It comes in two layouts: an island bed, or a shorter van with an east-west bed across the front.
Layout
Travelling families designed both layouts, according to Viscount.
- Bunks: 1,900mm long, at the far end from the door in their own area.
- Bathroom: a separate toilet and shower.
- Living: an L-shape lounge, a large kitchen and a washing machine.
Outside, an external cooker plugs into a gas bayonet at the front, and there is a picnic table and external speakers under the awning.
Standard kit
- Power: a 200 watt solar panel, a 110 amp hour AGM battery and a 30 amp battery charger.
- Water: two 95 litre fresh water tanks, a 12 volt pump and a filtered drinking water tap.
- Climate: a reverse cycle air conditioner and double glazed windows.
- Kitchen: a Thetford three-way fridge, a recessed four-burner gas cooktop with a full oven, and a pull-out pantry.
- Bathroom: a moulded shower, a swivel toilet, a washing machine and gas or electric hot water.
- Entertainment: a 24 inch smart TV, a Bluetooth radio, ceiling speakers and external speakers.
- Towing and safety: electric brakes on every wheel, a Brakesafe breakaway system, a reversing camera and a smoke alarm.
Build
- Body: white aluminium sides, a composite front, rear and roof, and checkerplate across the lower front.
- Insulation: fibreglass batts in the roof and Styrofoam in the walls.
- Inside height: 6 feet 8 inches.
- Door: a triple-locking security door.
- Storage: a galvanised tunnel boot and lift-up storage under the bed.
Optional Premium pack
The Premium pack adds LED strip lighting, premium upholstery, a padded bedhead and slide-out footrests. Outside, it adds gold or silver decals and 550mm high checkerplate lower sides. Viscount notes that its photos and virtual tours can show optional extras.
How big is it?
- Island bed layout: 8.45 metres towing length, 6.60 metres body length.
- East-west bed layout: 7.86 metres towing length, 6.01 metres body length.
- Towing height: 2.96 metres in both layouts.
How to buy
Viscount sells through dealers in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia, and one in New Zealand. Ask a dealer for the price, and for the tare and ATM (aggregate trailer mass) of the layout you choose.
