TT 13ft Hybrid

The Offroad Hybrids TT 13ft Hybrid is a 5.8 metre off-road hybrid caravan that sleeps up to four. It is the smallest and lightest of the three Offroad Hybrids models, with a pop-up roof and a slide-out outdoor kitchen. Offroad Hybrids says its hybrids are narrower than traditional caravans, so they are easier to tow and manoeuvre on four-wheel drive (4WD) tracks.

Who does it sleep?

It comes in three floor plans, all the same length and weight.

• Standard: two adults and one child, with a sofa bed and an internal shower and toilet.
• Bunk: two adults and two children, with an adult-sized single bunk at the front and an ensuite.
• Dinette: a dinette that converts to two or three bunks, with an outdoor shower.

Inside

The pop-up roof has windows with midge-proof mesh, and Offroad Hybrids says the van spans 16 feet once set up. Storage includes a wardrobe, cupboards and a vanity with a sink, and there is a fold-up table. Windows are double glazed with blinds and midge screens, and the entry door has a security screen. It has a 22 inch TV and a stereo.

Outdoor kitchen and annexe

The stainless steel kitchen slides out, with an AGA four-burner stove, a sink, drawers and a prep bench. It has plumbed hot and cold water, a three-sided wind deflector and a pull-out fridge tray. The electric awning has walls and poles that close it into a full annexe, which Offroad Hybrids designs as extra sleeping space. An outdoor hot and cold shower with its own tent is standard.

Chassis and off-road gear

• Drawbar: a solid hot-dip galvanised A-frame, 150 x 50 x 4mm, with a Cruisemaster DO35 off-road coupling.
• Chassis: solid 150 x 50 x 4mm.
• Suspension: heavy-duty independent coil springs with Pedders shock absorbers.
• Brakes: 12 inch electric drums.
• Wheels: alloys with mud terrain tyres, plus two spares.
• Protection: rock sliders, a checker plate stone guard with a toolbox, underbody deadener and a Dometic dust reduction system.
• Front lockers: sealed, with holders for two 9kg gas bottles and two jerry cans.
• Warranty: 5 years structural on the chassis and drawbar, and 12 months on other parts and labour.

Power and water

• Water: two 100 litre fresh tanks and an 80 litre grey water tank.
• Hot water: Truma gas and electric.
• Batteries: three 100 amp hour deep cycle batteries, run by a Redarc BMS30 battery management system.
• Charging: 300 watts of roof solar, a 30 amp battery charger and a 50 amp Anderson plug.
• Mains and sockets: 240 volt power, an inverter and 12 volt sockets.

Optional extras

• Air conditioning: a Dometic Harrier Lite on the roof adds 17 centimetres to the height. A Freshjet 3000 under the bed keeps the standard height.
• Slimline roof: 2.2 metres high, down from 2.38 metres.
• Heating: a diesel heater.
• Batteries: Invicta Black lithium.
• Kitchen: an Evakool fridge freezer, an internal cooktop or fridge, and pantry drawers on the fridge slide.
• Outdoors: all terrain tyres and wing awnings.

What will tow it?

• ATM (aggregate trailer mass): 2,600kg, the most it can weigh fully loaded.
• Tare: 2,000kg, its empty weight as built.
• Payload: 600kg for water, gas and gear. Full water tanks use about 200kg of it.
• Ball weight: 180kg.

To tow it fully loaded, your vehicle needs a braked towing capacity of at least 2,600kg.
