About the Gold LE
The Leader Gold LE is a semi off-road caravan built in Victoria, in couples and family layouts from 17 feet 6 inches to 25 feet. Leader calls it its best-selling model, and every layout can be customised. The model page says it sleeps up to six.
Who does it sleep?
It comes in two groups of floor plans.
- Tourer: ten layouts for couples, including single-axle and east-west bed options.
- Family: ten layouts with double or triple bunks, from 18 feet to 25 feet.
Power
- Solar: two roof-mounted panels with a Redarc MPPT solar controller.
- Charging: a Redarc Manager 30 with a built-in DC-DC charger, and an external solar connector.
- Sockets: 240 volt points in the kitchen, ensuite, bedroom and under the dinette, and 12 volt USB points by the beds.
- Inverter: optional.
Kitchen, bathroom and comfort
- Kitchen: a stove, grill, full oven and microwave, with a vented rangehood.
- Bathroom: a one-piece moulded shower, a ceramic swivel toilet and a ceramic basin.
- Laundry: a washing machine in layouts that fit one.
- Climate: roof-mounted air conditioning, with a diesel heater as an option.
- Bed: an innerspring mattress on a lift-up bed frame, with robes and nooks either side.
- Windows: double glazed, with a triple-locking main door.
Water and outdoors
- Water: two fresh water tanks with separate fillers and gauges, and a grey water tank.
- Gas: two gas bottles and a gas bayonet for a barbecue.
- Outside: a roll-out awning, an external shower, a picnic table, external speakers and a reversing camera.
Build
- Frame: a 19mm Meranti timber frame, screwed and bonded.
- Walls: double-ribbed aluminium cladding or aluminium composite panel, your choice, fully insulated.
- Chassis: a 6 inch box section chassis rail and A-frame.
- Suspension: load sharing, with the set-up depending on the layout.
- Wheels: 16 inch alloys.
- Brakes: electric brakes on every wheel, with a breakaway unit.
- Protection: checkerplate on the front, rear and sides.
- Warranty: Leader offers a three-year structural warranty across its range.
Dirt Roader package
The optional Dirt Roader package sets the Gold LE up for a smoother ride on corrugated roads. It adds a 300mm A-frame extension, a 50mm chassis riser and Cruisemaster CRS2 tandem suspension. It also adds 10 inch brakes, a DO35 hitch, a toolbox and 800mm checkerplate.
How to buy
Leader sells through dealers, including the Australian Caravan Centre sites in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Dealers are also listed in Wagga Wagga, Adelaide, Perth and New Zealand. Ask a dealer for the price, and for the tare and ATM (aggregate trailer mass) of the layout you choose.
