About the FortressX
The Fortitude FortressX is a caravan with a queen bed and an ensuite, on self-levelling airbag suspension with 17 inch mud terrain tyres. It carries six 200 watt solar panels, two 300 amp hour lithium batteries and a Victron 3000VA inverter. The ensuite has a composting toilet.
Who does it sleep?
Every floor plan has a queen bed, with an optional single bed.
- Rear Club: 22'6".
- Quad Bunk (Family): 22'6", with bunks.
- Large Ensuite: 22'6".
- Bunks: family vans take two, three or four.
- Seating: a cafe or L-shaped lounge.
Fortitude also discusses custom layouts with buyers.
Inside
The ensuite has a one-piece shower and an OGO composting toilet, and a washing machine is standard. An outdoor hot and cold shower is standard. It has a low profile air conditioner, a Carafan 12 volt dust suppression system and double glazed windows with blinds. It also has a 32 inch TV, a Fusion sound system, Starlink provisions and wireless chargers on the bedside tables.
Kitchen
You cook on a portable induction hob and a 3-in-1 cooker. The fridge is a 224 litre compressor fridge.
Chassis and off-road gear
- Chassis: 3.2mm box steel, with a 4 inch raiser and recovery points.
- Drawbar: 6 inch reinforced A-frame, extended, with a DO35 off-road coupling.
- Suspension: independent coil and shock, with self-levelling airbags.
- Axles: single or tandem.
- Wheels: 17 inch alloys with mud terrain tyres.
- Brakes: 12 inch.
- Storage: a monster toolbox with a built-in stone guard, a generator slide and a front tunnel boot.
- Rear: a mega rear box with two jerry can holders.
- Protection: 600mm checker plate sides.
Power and water
- Solar: six 200 watt panels, with a 50 amp solar regulator.
- Batteries: two 300 amp hour lithium, on the chassis.
- Inverter: a Victron 3000VA Multiplus II, with a 120 amp charger.
- Control: a Victron Cerbo GX touch screen.
- Charging on the road: a 50 amp DC to DC charger.
- Water: two 95 litre tanks, a 100 litre grey tank with a bypass, and a filtered drinking water tap.
- Hot water: an instantaneous system.
- Gas: two 9kg gas bottles.
Warranty and where to buy
Fortitude gives a 5 year structural warranty covering the chassis, body frame, walls, roof, electrical, plumbing, windows and floor. It sells from its showroom in Burpengary, Queensland.
