About the Parkes 16R Twin MK4
The Parkes 16R Twin MK4 is a pop-top off-road hybrid for two, with a permanent king bed. It suits a couple who want the bed made up on arrival and a travelling height under 2.8m.
It has a 2,435kg tare and a 3,000kg ATM (aggregate trailer mass), which leaves 565kg for water, gas and gear. Ball weight is 202kg, and you need a car rated to tow 3,000kg braked.
The king master bed measures 2,000mm by 1,840mm and stays made up while you travel. A large L-shaped folding sofa faces it. A self-contained ensuite holds the shower and the toilet. The kitchen has an induction cooktop and a Dometic NRX1130 fridge-freezer, with soft-close drawers throughout. A slide-out kitchen with a three-burner stove pulls out from the side.
Power runs at 24 volts. Ezytrail fits a 1,190W solar array, two 24V 235Ah lithium batteries and a Victron Multiplus-2 3,000VA inverter. That is 12kWh of storage, or 940Ah in 12 volt terms. A Victron SmartSolar 100/50 controller handles the charging.
Fresh water is 240 litres across two tanks, and grey water goes to an 80L tank. Gas heats the water on demand. A MyCoolman CCA3000 air conditioner and a 2kW diesel heater cover both ends of the year.
The electric pop-top raises at the press of a button and keeps travelling height to 2.77m. The chassis is one-piece hot-dip galvanised steel with an extended gooseneck drawbar, F5 certified and warranted for life. It rides on Ezyrider V3 coil independent suspension with an anti-roll bar and four Pedders Big Bore shocks. Bigfoot V3 12 inch brakes, 16 inch alloys on mud-terrain tyres and a 3,500kg off-road hitch complete the running gear. The van measures 7.32m long and 2.4m wide.
Outside, a large external kitchen, a gullwing storage box and a rear body toolbox carry the gear. A 24 inch smart TV and a wifi reverse camera come as standard. Ezytrail warrants structure and materials for 12 months from first ownership.
Ezytrail runs eleven showrooms, and you collect from whichever one suits you. Transport to it is a flat $1,000, and the from-price excludes dealer delivery and on-road costs.
