About the Sorrento 18 - Two Bunks
The Boss Sorrento 18 is an 18ft hard-top off-road caravan for a family of five, with a king bed and three permanent bunks. Tare is about 2,800kg, ball weight about 230kg and the ATM (aggregate trailer mass) is 3,500kg, which leaves about 700kg of payload.
The king bed is 2040 x 1830mm on an inner-spring mattress with overhead storage, and the bunks are 1890 x 680mm. The internal ensuite has a shower, a Dometic toilet and a basin, and the internal width is 2.05m. Inside are a Dometic two-burner gas stove and sink, a double bench lounge with a table and a vinyl floor. The 2025 external kitchen slides out in stainless steel with a four-burner gas stove, sink, draining board, prep bench and three-sided wind deflector. An external slide-out drawer takes a 96L dual-zone fridge. A 5.0 x 2.4m electric awning and a full annex kit with walls, windows, doors, floor, skirt and anti-flap kit are standard. Colours are Beachwood and Matte Black, with brown, black or grey lounge trim and a choice of cabinet, handle and benchtop finishes.
The walls are aluminium composite panel on a hot-dip galvanised A-frame and drawbar with underbody deadener. Suspension is tandem-axle independent trailing arm with Lovells twin shock absorbers, 12-inch off-road electric brakes and a Cruisemaster DO35 coupling. It wears 265/75 R16 mud tyres on six-stud alloys, with two spares on a twin swing-out rear bar. Four rock sliders, four heavy-duty drop-down stabiliser legs, Timken bearings, a Dometic dust reduction system and an Ark XO750 jockey wheel are fitted.
Power is 800W of roof solar in four panels and 400Ah of lithium with a REDARC 3,000W pure sine wave inverter. A REDARC Manager Alpha 50 and a RedVision monitor run the system. Water is two 120L fresh tanks and a 70L grey tank with a wired electric pump. Hot water is a Truma 14L gas and electric system. A MyCoolman roof-top reverse-cycle air conditioner, a diesel heater, two 9kg gas bottle holders, a 240V inlet and 12V and 240V sockets throughout are standard. The plugs are 7-pin and 50A Anderson.
Boss sells from showrooms in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, with a build-your-van tool and a brochure on its website.
