About the Base Escape
The Base Escape is a compact fibreglass pod camper with a queen-size bed and a 270 degree awning, built for an easy tow.
The queen-size sleeping area has a high-density foam mattress, a roof ventilation fan and LED lighting with white and amber modes. A 23ZERO Onyx 270 degree awning shelters the side and rear of the camper. The stainless steel kitchen has a Dometic two-burner gas stove, a stainless sink and an electric water pump, under modern grey cabinetry. A large rear storage compartment takes the gear.
A 100Ah deep-cycle battery charges from the tow vehicle through a Renogy 50A DC-DC charger, and the camper accepts unregulated solar at camp. Fresh water runs to 80 litres, with a 4.5kg gas bottle holder and a 20 litre jerry can holder.
The fibreglass body sits on a hot-dip galvanised chassis and a 120mm by 50mm by 4mm drawbar. Independent trailing-arm suspension with heavy-duty coil springs and shock absorbers carries it. It has 12 inch electric brakes with a handbrake and 15 inch alloy wheels on Goodride all-terrain tyres. Goldfields backs it with a 12 month general warranty and five years on the drawbar.
Goldfields sells it direct from its Maryborough showroom in Victoria.
