The Dirt Roader is JB Caravans' semi-off-road van for graded roads, national park access and station stays, built in 17 layouts including triple-bunk plans. JB has built it since 2015 and rates every layout to a 3,300kg ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass). The 18ft 6in FD Café layout is 7.83m long and 2.48m wide, with 1.98m of headroom, a queen bed and a café dinette for two. Walls are polyresin composite on a honeycomb floor, with no timber in the structure. Independent trailing-arm suspension comes from the factory as Cruisemaster CRS2 or AL-KO Enduro, and JB backs the van with a five-year structural warranty. JB states the Dirt Roader is Australian made. Standard power is a BMPro system with one AGM battery and a 200W solar panel. Water is two 110L fresh tanks and a 95L grey tank. JB puts 220L at four days for a family of five at 10 litres a person a day. Tare runs from 2,275kg to 2,500kg by layout and ball weight from 165kg to 245kg, against the 3,300kg ATM. The Dirt Road Xtreme is JB Caravans' heavier-duty off-road van, built in 32 layouts. They include east-west bed and drop-down bed plans the Dirt Roader does not offer. JB rates the layouts from a 2,800kg to a 3,500kg ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) and states the van is Australian made. The 17ft 10in FD Café layout is 7.77m long and 2.48m wide, with 1.98m of headroom, a queen bed and a café dinette for two. The east-west bed is reachable from both sides, and the drop-down bed turns the lounge into a bed without dismantling it. Alucomp aluminium-polyethylene cladding is standard, and the van rides on AL-KO Enduro 3.7T independent trailing-arm suspension. JB backs it with a five-year structural warranty. Standard power is an EcoFlow 4kW system with 333Ah of lithium, three 200W solar panels and a 3,600W inverter. JB sizes it for free camping as the norm. The JB Gator Hybrid 16 is an Australian-made full off-road hybrid caravan for two, in one layout, the 16ft rear-door cafe. JB sizes it for mid-size 4WDs such as the Fortuner, Everest, Pajero Sport, MU-X and Trailblazer. Tare is 2,070kg, ball weight 240kg and the ATM (aggregate trailer mass) is 2,800kg, which leaves 730kg of payload. The layout has a queen bed and a cafe dinette, with 1.98m of internal headroom in a body 2.30m wide and 4.877m long overall. The kitchen has a chrome sink, and the exterior, cabinetry and benchtop finishes are chosen at order. Suspension is Cruisemaster XT single-axle independent trailing arm, rated to 2.8 tonnes. The chassis wears a textured Raptor polyurethane coating against scrub, rocks and branches. JB gives a five-year structural warranty. Power is an EcoFlow 2kWh lithium system with 600W of solar in three panels. Water is a 95L fresh tank and a 50L grey tank. JB's own estimate is about four days off-grid, with power running out first. The JB Gator X is an Australian-made full off-road caravan of 16ft to 18ft 6in, built to order in 11 layouts. It rides on Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension. JB sizes it for mid-size 4WDs such as the Ranger, HiLux, D-MAX, Prado and MU-X. Tare runs from 2,325kg to 2,795kg by layout, with ATM (aggregate trailer mass) from 3,000kg to 3,500kg and ball weight from 157kg to 280kg. Layouts include L lounge, cafe and club lounge couples plans, a single-beds plan and family plans with two or three bunks. The 16ft L Lounge is the lightest: 2,325kg tare, 235kg ball weight, 7.215m overall, 2.48m wide, 1.98m of headroom, sleeping three. Every layout keeps a 216L Dometic compressor fridge, with black sink and tapware and a choice of exterior, cabinetry and benchtop finishes. The body is Duratec composite on a chassis coated in black Raptor, which resists impact, abrasion, UV and corrosion. Suspension is Cruisemaster ATX airbag rated to 4.5 tonnes with active levelling, on single or tandem axles by layout. JB gives a five-year structural warranty.
